Old streets and open water
Geneva's Old Town rewards a walk that leaves time for small details. Start around Place du Bourg-de-Four and St Pierre Cathedral, then follow the narrow streets around them. Look at how the squares and building facades change the scale of the neighbourhood.
At the lakefront, the city opens into a different landscape. The Jet d'Eau and lakeside promenades offer familiar views, but a slower wander makes room for the light on the water and the activity along the shore. Keep the walk flexible rather than building it around a departure time.
